The state of Texas is at the moment beneath fireplace for not offering a top quality education to college students studying English, significantly on the middle and highschool levels. To frame the schooling of those students exclusively in terms of their instructional needs ignores the potential richness they carry to schools. But thousands and thousands of people in three states voted for English language teaching, together with substantial numbers from immigrant communities, a sign that politicians are out of step with the folks they characterize.
The initiative, which aimed to drastically prohibit bilingual education in public colleges and promote English-solely instruction as a substitute, was spearheaded by Ron C. Unz, a rich Silicon Valley entrepreneur. The story of the expansion and entrenchment of these bilingual education schemes constitutes a truly spectacular and most outstanding illustration of the highly effective dynamics of special-curiosity group politics.
I do not see Bilingual Schooling as a dangerous addition to the public schooling on the contrary bilingual education is a window open, a window that enables knowledge to be transmitted to the students from different nationalities.
